Sharon Skade, Trainer and Consultant

Sharon has a background in sports coaching, devising and delivering physical activity programmes for families in Stockport, Greater Manchester. Having identified a gap in early years provision regarding the awareness of the important role and positive impact of Physical Development in all areas of a child’s learning and development, Sharon began to lead on a number of initiatives promoting physical development for children, in particular those in the early years.

In order to understand more fully the theories involved in child development, to complement her coaching qualifications, Sharon completed a BA Degree in Childhood Studies passing with First Class Honours. This has enabled Sharon to design appropriate bespoke training and development opportunities for a multi-agency early years workforce.

Sharon is passionate about changing lives through physical activity and sport and inspires colleagues across Greater Manchester with her interactive early year’s physical activity training sessions and continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities.

I have worked with Sharon Skade specifically on promoting physical development in early years settings for over three years now. She has been fundamental in us training out and embedding the PD Champions philosophy across Bertram Nursery Group. Sharon’s inspiring and interactive training captivates practitioners, giving them the tools to adapt their practice with confidence and embed the knowledge that Physical development is the foundation to children’s learning in all other areas of development.
