Nicola Lochery qualified as a teacher in 1992 and progressed to Assistant Head responsible for Personal Development, Behaviour and Welfare and Curriculum. In this capacity she introduced to the school systems, policies and training in Safeguarding, Safer recruitment, Restorative Practice, Behaviour and Prevent.  These areas were cited by Ofsted in April 2016 as “outstanding features that have been embedded within the fabric of the school.”   In her role she was involved in writing the SEF and School Development plan along with Governors’ reports.

Professional development is ongoing and has included:

  • Government facilitator for Prevent – WRAP trainer and student workshops.
  • Specialist in CSE
  • PPR trainer in physical intervention and behaviour management.
  • Restorative Practice Trainer
  • Preparation for Headship with Blackburn and Darwin Local Authority
