Course aims:

To ensure that your setting is providing consistent quality teaching, learning and assessment.

Course objectives:

  • To understand what best practice looks like in early years
  • To understand the importance of quality teaching to meet the needs of individuals and allow all children to reach their potential
  • To know how to plan for quality learning experiences that meet the needs of all children
  • To understand the importance of quality assessment in ensuring all children’s needs are met and their progress is measured

Length of course: 2.5 hours.

Target audience: Early years practitioners in schools, early years settings including childminders.

This course supports the Learning and development areas within the Early Years Foundation Stage (2017). Its focus for Ofsted inspection sits within the Leadership and Management, and teaching, learning and assessment judgment areas of the Common Inspection Framework (2015).
