This 6 hours re-qualification course is for those who have attended the full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid course in the last 3 years. This is not suitable for those required to adhere to the EYFS 2017.
This course covers how to help a baby or child who:
- is unresponsive and breathing
- is unresponsive and not breathing, including (i) the chain of survival (ii) the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) on a child who is choking
- is bleeding
- is suffering from shock
- is burnt or has a scald
- has a medical emergency, including seizures
The course also includes details on accident reporting and administering medication.
Length of course: 6 hours.
Target audience: School staff not working under the EYFS requirements.
