First Aid For Mental Health Level 3

Participants must have attended the level 2 course (within a 6 weeks period) prior to attending this course.  This course will cover First Aid for Mental Health for both adults and children.  Delegates will get a deep understanding of what mental health is and what factors can affect wellbeing. The course teaches delegates practical skills to spot the signs of a mental illness and gives them the confidence to step in and provide appropriate support to a person who needs assistance.

Who should attend?

Supervisors/Designated Safeguarding Leads.  This course is suitable for those who want to gain the necessary skills to have a non-judgmental conversation, recognise the signs and symptoms of common workplace mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support.  Please be aware that this course focuses on employees in the workplace and covers subjects that some people may find distressing, including suicide and self-harm.  If a delegate feels overwhelmed they can leave the course at any time.

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder
  • Self-harm
  • Suicide
  • Eating disorders
  • Personality disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Psychosis
  • Schizophrenia
  • Anxiety

A Level 3 Award in First Aid for Mental Health will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment, accredited by NUCO Training Ltd. There is no expiry of the qualification, but annual refresher training is recommended.

Our trainer: Sarah Keating is an experienced and qualified trainer who has been trained with Mental Health England and other awarding organisations to gain the expertise and knowledge to deliver First Aid for Mental Health.
